Winterhawk (band)
Winterhawk was an American heavy metal band formed in 1978 in San Francisco, California.[1] Fronted by lead guitar player and songwriter Nik 'Winterhawk' Alexander, the band released two albums on Mother Earth records in 1979 and 1980. Their debut album Electric Warriors was produced by Tom Bee. Winterhawk were committed to a Native anti-drug movement, pioneering an abstinence-through-music platform that ran parallel to the straight-edge hardcore movement.[2] Both Electric Warriors and Dog Soldier were remastered and reissued on Don Giovanni Records in 2021.[3]
