Wind power in Estonia

As of 2020, Estonia has a wind power installed capacity of about 320 MW.[2] All operational wind farms in the country are on land. Offshore wind farms are planned on Lake Peipus and in the Baltic Sea near the island of Hiiumaa.[3][4]

Tbhawt Manufacturing and Eleon AS are Estonian wind turbine manufacturing company which provides services for the development of distributed power generation systems.[5][6] Tbhawt production capacity of the plant is 4000 units per year. The production is concentrated in Estonia with the focus on the world market, and the small wind turbines manufacturing affects the energy cost worldwide.[7][8][9]

Onshore wind energy

Three major offshore projects with total capacity of 1490 MW are planned in Estonia, with a total capacity of 1490 MW: a 700 MW project near the island of Hiiumaa by Nelja Energia, a 600 MW project in Gulf of Riga by Eesti Energia, and a 190 MW farm near the western coast of Estonia by Neugrund OÜ.[10]
