Want You is a song by Nigerian singer Oxlade. It was released on 18 March 2022, through Troniq Music, and distributed by Epic Records, in France and Columbia Records, in the UK. "Want You" was written by Oxlade, and produced by TMXO. It also peaked at number 47 on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs Chart and number 18 on the UK Afrobeats Singles Chart.

Background

On 8 February 2022, Oxlade's sex tape was leaked on Snapchat and was celebrated by UNILAG students, as they rated his sex skills, and tagged it "The Spider-Man Style".[1] The female partner was later identified as Rachyyveer or Tammy. On 10 February 2022, she publicly disclose her plan to sue Oxlade for 20 Million nairas, shortly after her boyfriend dumped her.[2] On 12 February 2022, he apologized to his fans and the lady in the viral video. On 10 March 2022, he signed a record deal with Columbia Records UK.[3] He released "Want You" on 18 March 2022, through Troniq Music, and Epic Records France.[4] The record was produced by TMXO.

On 18 March 2022, he released the official music video to "Want You", shot and directed by Seyi Akinlade for UAX Studio.[5]

Commercial performance

During the debut week of Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart, "Want You" peaked at number forty-seven.[6] "Want You" peaked at number eighteen on the UK Afrobeats Singles Chart.[7] "Want You" was named on The Native's songs of the day on 18 March 2020.[8]
