Sen. Goff hired American architect Harrison Albright, best known for his innovative design of the West Baden Springs Hotel in Orange County, Indiana, to design it in the Beaux-Arts style. It was once the social center of Clarksburg. In its day it was a gathering place for parties, weddings, civic meetings and social events. It was one of the state's most luxurious hotels.
Most recently a new developer is in the process of renovating and restoring this former historic hotel including an upscale brewpub,[1] apartments and lodging.[1]
