Vsevolod Kniaziev

Vsevolod Serhiiovych Kniaziev (Ukrainian: Всеволод Сергійович Князєв; born May 25, 1979, Mykolaiv[1]) is a Ukrainian judge and lawyer, who held the post of Secretary of the Grand Chamber of the Supreme Court. On October 22, 2021, he was elected to the post of chairman of the Supreme Court, which he will take on December 1.

Biography

Originally from Mykolaiv. He graduated from the Mykolaiv humanitarian Institute of the Ukrainian state Maritime Technical University and the Odesa Law Academy National University. In 2001, he received the right to practice law, which was suspended in 2013. He worked as a legal adviser, lecturer at the Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding, and lawyer.

Since 2013, he started working as a judge of the Mykolaiv District Administrative Court, and in 2015 he became the chairman of this court.

Vsevolod Kniaziev is a newly elected judge of the Cassation Administrative Court of the Supreme Court, formed after the 2016 reform.[2]

On December 12, 2017, Vsevolod Kniaziev was elected secretary of the Grand Chamber of the Supreme Court.[3]

On October 22, 2021, the plenum of the Supreme Court elected a new chairman of this institution by secret ballot. It was Kniaziev, for whom 98 colleagues voted. He will start exercising his powers on December 1.[4][5][6]
