Vlach People's Party

The Vlach People's Party (Romanian: Partia Neamului Rumânesc; Serbian Cyrillic: Влашка народна странка, romanized: Vlaška narodna stranka, VNS) is a political party in Serbia representing the ethnic Vlach minority in the Timok Valley.[1][2] Its leader is Predrag Balašević.[3]

History

The Vlach People's Party was founded in 2004. It was created with the goal of preserving the Vlach culture and identity in Serbia.[4][5] The party participated in the 2020 Serbian parliamentary elections in a coalition with the Liberal Democratic Party and other ethnic minority parties.[6] It now cooperates with the United Serbia coalition on local levels.[7]
