Visa policy of Maldives

Maldives grants free tourist visa or visa-on-arrival status to all nations of the world for 30 days.[1]

Nationals of India[2] and Russia[3] can enter Maldives for 90 days without visa.

Entry requirements

All visitors to Maldives must:

  • hold a passport or a travel document with Machine Readable Zone (MRZ) with at least 1 months validity.[4]
  • have a pre-paid hotel booking/accommodation.[4]
  • have sufficient funds to last for the intended period of stay in Maldives.[4]
  • have confirmed onward/return tickets to home country or to country of residence (not applicable for valid resident permit holders).[4]
  • have entry documents to their next destination; for example, the visa.[4]
  • have Traveller Declaration filled in and submitted by all travelers travelling to and from Maldives, within 72 hours to the flight time. The form has to be submitted electronically via IMUGA.[4]
