Virginia's 79th House of Delegates district

Virginia's 79th House of Delegates district is one of 100 seats in the Virginia House of Delegates, the lower house of the state's bicameral legislature. District 79 represents parts of the cities of Norfolk and Portsmouth. The seat is currently held by Stephen E. Heretick.[1]

Heretick was defeated in the 2021 Democratic primary by Nadarius Clark.[2] In the general election, Clark defeated Republican Lawrence Mason, the first candidate of the his party to run in the district since 2001.[3][4]
