Vankanasika Tissa of Anuradhapura

Vankanasika Tissa was the second King of Anuradhapura from the House of Lambakanna I. He ruled from 111 to 113 AD. He was preceded by his father, Vasabha and succeeded by his son, Gajabahu I. He is described as a weak ruler in historical texts.

According to historical chronicles, during the reign of Vankanasika, the Chola king Karikalan arrived with a large army, invaded and plundered Sri Lanka, captured twelve thousand Sinhalese youths from Anuradhapura and took them as prisoners.
