Vũ Minh (director)

Vu Minh was born on February 20, 1967 in Quy Nhon, Binh Dinh. He had a difficult childhood when he had to work many jobs to earn a living and feed his siblings because of the divorce of his parents. Since he was active in the Smile puppet team, he felt a passion for directing.

He has directed and produced several plays from Idecaf Theater Stage such as Beast Contract, Dream Man, Bikini Hunter, etc. For his work Rose Romance of Mother, he received the Golden Plum Award for Best Play for Theater in 2013. In addition to staging many plays for adults and teenagers, he also directed and produced 16 episodes of Once Upon a Time series for children, bonus one episode in Fairy Tale series (a legacy of Once Upon a Time series), entitled Thumbelina lost in the Wonderland (based on the original story The Wizard of Oz).

On March 13, 2022, Vũ Minh died at the University Medical Center, Ho Chi Minh City after being treated for pneumonia and severe respiratory failure.[1]
