Urali Gounder
Urali Gounder is the combinations of the words Ur ("land") and Ali ("ruler"), with the title "Gounder"[1]

They were originally Kshatriyas living in Aalipuram[2][3]which was also known as Thiruvaali Nadu(Ruled by Vaishnavite Thirumangai Alvar).
The Urali Gounder caste is a sub-caste of Mutharaiyar[4] community found majorly in Tiruchirapalli,Karur, Pudukkottai, Perambalur and Dindigul districts.[5]
The Urali Gounder caste is classified as Denotified Caste in Tiruchirapalli, Karur, Perambalur and Pudukottai Districts and Backward Caste in other districts.[6]
