Unfinished Affairs (Spanish: La maniobra de la tortuga)[1] is a 2022 Spanish-Argentine police thriller film directed by Juan Miguel del Castillo which stars Fred Adenis and Natalia de Molina. It is an adaptation of the novel La maniobra de la tortuga by Benito Olmo.

Plot

After police inspector Manuel Bianquetti is transferred from Madrid to Cádiz, he gets involved in the investigation of a criminal case around the corpse of a young woman.[2]

Production

An adaptation of the novel La maniobra de la tortuga by Benito Olmo, the screenplay was penned by Juan Miguel del Castillo alongside José Rodríguez.[4] The film was produced by Áralan Films, A Contracorriente Films and La maniobra de la tortuga AIE alongside Aleph Media and it had the participation of RTVE, Canal Sur and Movistar+.[3][5] It was funded by ICAA, AAIICC, Triodos Bank and Crea SGR and sponsored by the Diputación de Cádiz.[3] Shooting began in May 2021 and wrapped in June 2021.[6][7] Shooting locations included the province of Cádiz (Jerez de la Frontera, San Fernando, Cádiz) and Seville.[8][7]

Release

The film will have its world premiere on 24 March 2022 at the 25th Málaga Film Festival,[9] screened in the festival's main competition.[1][2] Distributed by A Contracorriente Films,[1] it is set for a 6 May 2022 theatrical release in Spain.[10] Latido Films swooped on international sales rights.[1]
