Ullapara railway station

Ullapara railway station is a railway station of Bangladesh situated at Ullahpara Upazila, Sirajganj District.[2] It is a part of the Iswardi–Sirajganj line.

Passenger and Freight

This station is used for both passenger and freight services. Many inter-city trains like Chitra Express give stoppage here. Moreover, freight trains carrying various products like cement clinker and cattle food from India stops here.[3]

Accidents

  • 13/04/2014: At about 3:20 am, a running Dhaka-bound Ekota Express collided head-on with a standing Lalmonirhat-bound Lalmoni Express at Ullapara railway station. Three coaches of Ekota Express and one coach of Lalmoni Express were mangled. A total of seven coaches veered off the tracks. At least 2 people died and 50 were injured.[4][5]
  • 14/11/2019: At around 2 pm, a locomotive and seven coaches (including a power car) of Rangpur-bound Rangpur Express derailed at Ullapara railway station area. Fire broke out in three coaches. Nobody was killed but at least 25 passengers were injured when they hurried to get off the coaches due to the fire.[6][7]
