USS Columbia (SSBN-826)
USS Columbia (SSBN-826) will be the lead boat of the Columbia-class ballistic missile submarines in the United States Navy, and the first vessel of the Navy to be named for the District of Columbia. The name was officially announced on 25 July 2016 by U.S. Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus.[1] She is currently under construction at General Dynamics' Electric Boat facility in Quonset Point, Rhode Island.[2]
