Threnodia Carolina
Threnodia Carolina is a 1678 book by Sir Thomas Herbert, 1st Baronet. It is an account of his time spent with Charles I of England as a gentleman of the bedchamber whilst Charles was imprisoned by Parliament, ending at the time of the Execution of Charles I.[1] The subtitle is "being a narrative of the captivity of King Charles I by Sir Thomas Herbert, Bart., who is described as an 'Eye & Ear witness' of the King's death."[2]
