Thomas DeWitt Cuyler
Thomas DeWitt Cuyler (September 28, 1854 – November 2, 1922) was a director of the Pennsylvania Railroad and the chairman of the Association of Railway Executives.[1][2]

Family
Cuyler was born in Philadelphia, the son of Theodore Cuyler (1819-1876), who was a lawyer, and his wife, Mary Elizabeth DeWitt Cuyler (1829-1892).[3] He was named for his maternal grandfather, Thomas DeWitt Jr. (1791-1874), who was a reverend in New York City; his maternal great-grandparents were Thomas DeWitt (1741-1809) and Elsie Hasbrouck DeWitt (1749-1832), member of the Hasbrouck family. Thomas DeWitt Sr.'s sister, Mary, married James Clinton and had New York Governor DeWitt Clinton, making him a first cousin, twice removed of Thomas DeWitt Cuyler.
It was common for members of Cuyler's family to be named for other family members; his sister, Eleanor DeGraff Cuyler (1856-1934), was named for their paternal grandmother, Eleanor (nee DeGraff) Cuyler (1790-1886); his brother, Cornelius C. Cuyler (1859-1909), was named for their paternal grandfather, Cornelius C. Cuyler (1783-1850).
On May 3, 1881, in Philadelphia, Thomas married Frances Lewis (1860-1941), a Philadelphia native and daughter of John Thompson Lewis (1811-1891) and Maria Litchfield Scott Lewis (1823-1905).[4] They had four daughters:
