The Roundup (2022 film)

The Roundup (Korean: 범죄도시2; lit. Crime City 2) is a 2022 South Korean film directed by Lee Sang-yong, starring Ma Dong-seok, Son Seok-koo, and Choi Gwi-hwa.[1] A sequel of 2017 film The Outlaws, the film is scheduled to be released in May 18, 2022.[2]

Synopsis

Four years after the capture of Jang Chen in Garibong-dong, Ma Seok-do heads to Vietnam to extradite a suspect, but soon after his arrival, he discovers additional murder cases and hears about a vicious killer who has been committing crimes against tourists for several years. To catch an unprecedented criminal, Detective Ma and his team must go the extra mile!

Production

The film was scheduled to be filmed in Vietnam in March 2020, but due to COVID-19 pandemic, filming schedule in Vietnam was postponed and the domestic part was filmed first. Later, it was decided to complete the post-production in Korea by mobilizing local filming, sets, and CG. Filming concluded in June 2021.[6]
