The Princess is an upcoming American fantasy action film directed by Le-Van Kiet. It is set to be released on Hulu on July 1, 2022.[1]

Premise

When a beautiful, strong-willed princess refuses to wed the cruel sociopath to whom she is betrothed, she is kidnapped and locked in a remote tower of her father's castle. With her scorned, vindictive suitor intent on taking her father's throne, the princess must protect her family and save her kindgom.

Production

On October 30, 2020, 20th Century Studios acquired the rights to Ben Lustig and Jake Thornton's spec script The Princess, with Hulu set to distribute. Neal H. Moritz’s Original Film will co-produce the film with 20th Century and Derek Kolstad, Joey King (who was cast as the lead[3]), Lustig, and Thornton will serve as producers.[3] On November 12, 2021, Le-Van Kiet was revealed to be the film’s director.[4]

Release

On November 12, 2021, The Princess was set to be released in the summer of 2022 on Hulu in the United States[4] and on Disney+ internationally through the Star hub.[5] On April 12, 2022, it was revealed that the film will be released on July 1, 2022.[1][2]
