The Masked Singer Brasil is a Brazilian reality singing competition television series based on the South Korean television series King of Mask Singer. The series premiered on August 10, 2021 on TV Globo.[1]

The series features celebrities singing songs while wearing head-to-toe costumes and face masks concealing their identities. It employs panelists who guess the celebrities' identities by interpreting clues provided to them throughout the series.[2]

Production

Development

In early January 2020, it was reported that TV Globo and SBT were in the running for the rights to produce The Masked Singer format in Brazil.[3] The series was confirmed in April 2021 by Endemol Shine Brasil and would be produced by TV Globo. The first season premiered on August 10, 2021 and concluded on October 19, 2021.[4] By October 2021, TV Globo renewed the show for a second season which premiered on January 23, 2022.[5]

Hosts and panelists

In the first season, singer Ivete Sangalo serves as host, Camila de Lucas serves as a backstage interviewer, and the panel consists of actor Rodrigo Lombardi, actress Taís Araújo, singer Simone Mendes and comedian Eduardo Sterblitch.

In the second season, Sangalo returned as host, Priscilla Alcântara was added as a replacement backstage interviewer for Camila de Lucas, Lombardi, Araújo, and Sterblitch returned as panelists and Tatá Werneck replaced Simone on the panel.
