The Legend of Sword and Fairy 7 is an action-adventure game developed by China Mobile Games & Entertainment Group Ltd., and SOFTSTAR Technology (Beijing) Co. Ltd. It is the ninth installment in The Legend of Sword and Fairy (or Chinese Paladin) video game series, preceded by The Legend of Sword and Fairy 6 and its story is set years after the events of the entire The Legend of Sword and Fairy series.[1]

Development
On May 23, 2017, Yao Zhuangxian announced that the project was established as the successor of The Legend of Sword and Fairy 6.
Public beta was released on Feb 2, 2021 for free. Some beta players were also invited to provide feedback.
Presale of boxed editions (Standard and Premium) started on Jul 28, both in Chinese Mainland and Taiwan.

Reviews
Negative
Many Chinese press reviewers complained about bugs which affected the entire gameplay in early versions, like falling from the terrain that has never been loaded or sudden disappearance of characters within the boss.
Many veteran players of the series (Some of them have played since The Legend of Sword and Fairy for MS-DOS) decided this title as it is targeted for fans only, as many plots are follow-ups to previous generations, with very poor gameplay and poor modeling,[2] only making veteran fans pay for the game no matter how poor the quality is.

This series' soundtrack and story-telling have always been the outstanding advantages of the entire series, and this title is no exception.
