The Good Nurse

The Good Nurse is an upcoming American crime thriller film directed by Tobias Lindholm and written by Krysty Wilson-Cairns, based on the 2013 book of the same name by Charles Graeber. The film is about the pursuit and capture of American serial killer Charles Cullen, who murdered as many as 300 patients over his 16-year career as a nurse. It stars Jessica Chastain, Eddie Redmayne, Nnamdi Asomugha, Noah Emmerich and Kim Dickens.

The project was announced in November 2016, with Tobias Lindholm set to direct the film with Krysty Wilson-Cairns writing the screenplay. Lionsgate was initially set to distribute the film.[2] In August 2018, Jessica Chastain and Eddie Redmayne entered negotiations to star in the film.[3]

No further development on the film was announced until February 2020. Chastain and Redmayne were confirmed to star, with Lionsgate no longer involved with the project.[4] Netflix entered negotiations to buy the film's worldwide distribution rights for $25 million.[5]

In March 2021, Nnamdi Asomugha was added to the cast, with Noah Emmerich and Kim Dickens joining in April.[6][7]

Filming began on April 12, 2021, in Stamford, Connecticut.[8]

A first look at the film came during the Netflix 2022 promotional video release on February 3, 2022, showing Eddie Redmayne and Jessica Chastain in a brief clip.[9]
