Stepan Ivakhiv

Stepan Petrovich Ivakhiv (Ukrainian: Івахів Степан Петрович; born January 24, 1968, in Andriyivka village, Busk district, Lviv region) is a Ukrainian businessman, politician, co-owner of the Continuum FIG and the WOG gas station network. People's Deputy of VII, VIII and IX convocations. Included in the ranking of the 100 richest people in Ukraine. First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Environmental Policy in the Verkhovna Rada of the IX convocation (since August 29, 2019).[1]

Biography

He was born on January 24, 1968, in the village of Andriyivka, Busk district, Lviv region.

In 1992 he graduated from the Rivne Institute of Water Management.

Business activity

Founder and co-owner of FIG "Continuum".

As of 2019, Ivakhiv's fortune is estimated at $ 93 million.[2]

Political activity

In 2010 he was elected a deputy of the Volyn regional council in a multi-member constituency on the electoral list of the Volyn regional organization of the Party of Regions. Member of the Standing Committee on International Cooperation, Foreign Economic Relations and Investment.[3]

In the 2012 parliamentary elections, he ran for parliament as a self-nominated candidate in single-mandate constituency # 21 (Kovel, Kovel, Ratniv, Starovyzhiv, Shatsk districts) and won, receiving more than 37% of the vote and less than one percent ahead of Igor Huzy.

On November 1, 2018, he was included in the sanctions list of the Russian Federation.

On August 29, 2019, he joined the For the Future factional group in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. On June 2, 2020, the group was renamed the Party for the Future, which was associated with the exit and transition to a new group.[4]

Since August 29, 2019, First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Environmental Policy and Nature Management.[5] Member of the Group for Interparliamentary Relations with the Czech Republic since 19 November 2019.[6] Since December 18, 2019, a member of the group for inter-parliamentary relations with the Kingdom of Sweden.[7] Member of the Group for Inter-Parliamentary Relations with the Republic of Slovenia since 18 December 2019.[8] He has been a member of the Inter-Parliamentary Relations Group with Canada since October 15, 2019.
