Plot
Waking up, to ash and dust, our hero Magnus Jones has a lot of fun. He runs out of his two-story cottage, dropping a hot beatbox rhythm on the way out which introduces the player to the mix of rhythm and fun.
Gameplay
The game is played multiplayer with 2 or more people fighting waves of dragon monsters with the mystical weapons of chi which can be bought from vendors around the map or found in epic or higher rarity chests.
Magnus may attack his enemies with light or heavy attacks, performing more damage and gaining access to weapon-specific combos by attacking in time with the music. A visual metronome beneath Magnus helps keep rhythm. Upon death, enemies become "Toothless" and when they get toothless they drop equipment of varying rarities.
Upon death, Magnus becomes "Toothless" and when he gets toothless he gets angry and all equipment is lost, with the exception of items which are "Floyd-Bound", which can be carried over an unlimited number of times. Items can be floyd bound at the expense of platinum records, which are dropped by boss enemies and can also be bought as the game's main fun element.
