Hemming attended Norwich High School for Girls.[3] Outside rugby, Hemming is a veterinarian.[4] Her rugby career required for her to make significant adjustments to her profession, transitioning from a farmyard to a domestic vet. She has said that this change will help her plan her training a lot easier and will reduce the physical exhaustion that comes with her demanding job treating farm animals.[5]
