History
During the sixties, the companies RCA Victor and Discos CBS arrived in Mexico and began to produce records by national artists, in addition to editing and distributing records by international artists. Bertelsmann Music Group bought Ariola Records and the American RCA, and with it, BMG Music Mexico began.
By 1990, Sony CBS México and BMG México were two important companies that had the catalog of important Mexican artists of the past decades, and during that decade, in 2004 Sony Music Entertainment and BMG made a commercial alliance called Sony BMG, giving this to Sony BMG Entertainment Mexico. Sony Music would end up buying BMG 4 years later in 2008 and with this the BMG catalog and internationally would make a change of image. Sony BMG Mexico would become Sony Music Entertainment Mexico in charge of Argentine Roberto López in 2009.
