Solaiman Haque Joarder

Solaiman Haque Joarder also known as Solaiman Haque Joarder Selun is a Bangladesh Awami League politician and the incumbent Member of Parliament from Chuadanga-1.[1]

Early life

Solaiman Haque Joarder was born on 15 March 1946. His father's name is late Sirajul Islam Jowardar and his mother is late Ashiya Khatun. His father was a businessman by profession. He passed his matriculation (S.S.C) from Chuadanga Victoria Jubilee High School and studied in higher standards at Chuadanga Government College.[2][3] During the Bangladesh Liberation war he served in the Mukti Bahini.[4]

Career

Businessman Solomon Haque Joarder (Salon) is actively involved in politics. He has been elected as a Member of Parliament for the 3rd time.[5]

As a student, he was involved in student league politics. After the establishment of the Jubo League , he was elected president of Chuadanga subdivision. He was president of chuadanga youth league in 1973, district secretary of Awami League in 79. He actively participated in the 71st Liberation War with training from India. Mr. Solaiman Haque Joarder is very active in politics at the district level. Mr. Joarddar has also served as a long-time secretary of chuadanga rifle club, redcrescent society, district sports organization.

Cases against journalists

Joarder and his brother, Reazul Islam, filed cases against 80 people including The Daily Amar Desh correspondent Dalim Hossain and the Prothom Alo correspondent Shah Alam in 2009. Dalim Hossain was arrested in the case.
