Sky Bridge 721 - Dolní Morava

The longest suspension bridge in the world is being built in the Czech Republic, village Dolní Morava. A suspension bridge named Sky Bridge 721 will span the valley at a height of 95 metres and will be 721 metres long. It will open to the first visitors from the general public in the spring of 2022

Sky Bridge 721 will create an unprecedented path between the sky and the ground. At a record-breaking length of 721 metres, it will be the longest footbridge in the world. Surrounded by the pure nature of Králický Sněžník mountain, it will offer its visitors enchanting views of the landscape. Sky Bridge 721 will give its visitors a feeling that cannot be experienced anywhere else. Visitors will need to pluck up courage to set foot on the bridge, as they will find themselves 95 metres above the ground at the highest point.

More than just a connection of two mountain ridges

The suspension bridge is located just a few metres from the Sky Walk and spans the Mlýnský Stream valley from the ridge of Slamník Mountain to the ridge of Chlum Mountain. You will step onto the bridge at an altitude of 1,125 metres and off it at 1,135 metres above sea level. It is a unique technical feat in the Czech Republic. After crossing the valley to the other side of the bridge, all visitors will have a unique opportunity to discover the local nature and history.

For that reason, an original and educational nature trail called “The Bridge of Time” is being prepared with elements of augmented reality in cooperation with the state-owned enterprise LESY ČR (Forests of the Czech Republic) and the Museum of Czechoslovak Fortifications of 1935-38. A uniquely made game with 10 educational panels covers the topics of environmental protection and how to behave in the countryside, and the history and life story of a family from Dolní Morava against the backdrop of events that our republic has gone through from 1935 until now.[1]
