Secretary-General of the African Planning Society
The secretary-general of the African Planning Society (APSSG or SG) is the chief executive officer of the African Planning Society and head of the APS Secretariat, one of the three principal organs of the African Planning Society.[1] The role of the secretary-general as chief executive of the secretariat is laid out in the Constitution of the African Planning Society.[2] The position of secretary-general was formed following the merger of African Urban Community of Practice (AUCOP) an initiative of African Urban Institute with the African Planning Association.[3] His role also include as an advocate, a mediator in promotion of planning in Africa.[4]
