Scandinavian Journal of Public Health is a peer-reviewed academic journal that publishes papers in the field of Public Health. The journal's editor-in-chief is Terje Andreas Eikemo, professor of sociology at NTNU. Scope

Scandinavian Journal of Public Health is an international forum of Nordic as well as international public health research and policy. The journal is primarily aimed at researchers and practitioners in academia, government and health care, working in the fields of social medicine, epidemiology, public health and preventive medicine. In 2017, the editor-in-chief announced the new scope of the journal, marking an increased focus on social inequalities in health.[1]

History

In November 2017, the journal published a special issue in honor of sir Michael Marmot.

Abstracting and indexing

Scandinavian Journal of Public Health is abstracted and indexed in, among other databases: SCOPUS, and the Social Sciences Citation Index. According to the Journal Citation Reports, its 2018 impact factor was 1.761, ranking it 72 out of 162 journals in the category 'Public, Environmental & Occupational Health' (SSCI).[2] Its 2020 impact factor is 3.021.
