Saudi Railway Company
The Saudi Railway Company (SAR; Arabic: الشركة السعودية للخطوط الحديدية) is one of two state-owned companies that operates Saudi Arabia's rail network along with Saudi Railways Organization.

SAR operate the 2750 km north-south railway line and a passenger line from Riyadh to Hai'l, Saudi Arabia, nearby the Jordanian border.[3] SAR was established in 2006 to build, operate, and manage the north-south railway project.[4]
Approval to merge Saudi Railways Organization and Saudi Railway Company was announced in February 2021.[5]
Network
The total length of the SAR rail network will be 2,750 km. The SAR project contains two main lines. The network contains 9 intermodal yards (shipping yards) at Al-Haditha, Al-Jawf, Al-Besaitaa, Prince Abdulaziz Bin Mussa’ad Economic City at Hail, Qassim, Sudair, Riyadh, Ras Al-Khair, and Jubail. There will be 17 buildings to house maintenance staff across the railway network.
SAR Riyadh–Qurayyat Line
The SAR Riyadh–Qurayyat Line begins at Riyadh and runs northwest toward Al Haditha near the Jordanian border, passing through Majma’a, Qassim, Hail and Al-Jawf.[6] Both passenger and freight services will be operated on this line.[7] There will be six passenger stations on the line which will be in Riyadh at King Khaled International Airport, Majma’a, Qassim, Hail at Prince Abdulaziz Bin Mussa’ad Economic City, Al-Jawf, and Al-Qurayyat.[8]
SAR North South Railway Line
The SAR North South Railway Line runs from Al-Jalamid mine in the Northern province and then passes through Al-Jawf and Hail until Al Baithah Junction in Qassim province. The line then travels east to the processing and export facilities in Ras Al Khair in the Eastern Province.[9] This line will be used solely by freight trains.[10]
