Rivalries in the Jääkiekon SM-Liiga have occurred between teams for many years. The main reason has been geography.

Satakunnan derby

Lukko - Ässät game in Rauma in 2019

Porin Ässät and Rauman Lukko are rivals because they are the only two teams in the entire region of Satakunta. The derby was named Satakunnan derby after the region. Ässät's fan organization, Pataljoona, and Lukko's fan organization, Raumam boja, both have commented that the rivalry has lost the heat because there are too many of Ässät - Lukko games in a season (6). The latest big event between fans was when Lukko's fan organization stole Pataljoona's flags and other equipment.[1]

Savon derby

Savon derby is a derby between KalPa and Jukurit.

Tampereen derby

Tampereen derbys are games between Tappara and Ilves. Both of the teams are based in Tampere and play in the Nokia Areena.

Talviklassikko

Talviklassikko was a derby between HIFK and Jokerit.

Kaakon derby

Kaakon derby is a derby between SaiPa and KooKoo

Kasitien derby

Kasitien derby means all the games between Ässät, TPS, Sport and Lukko.[lower-alpha 1]

Kärpät might sometimes be included since Oulu is also on the Valtatie 8 ("Kasitie").

Järvi-Suomen derby

Järvi-Suomen derby is a game between JYP and KalPa
