Background
In 2020, after the passing of three farm laws by the Parliament of India, large protests against it took place. Gurnam Singh Charuni was one of the leaders of the Samyukta Kisan Morcha and was of the view that the farmers organisation must contest election to fulfill the demands of the farmers.[2]
Gurnam Singh Chaduni launched his political party called the Sanyukt Sangharsh Party on 18 December 2021. The party plans to contest in all 117 Punjab Legislative Assembly seats in the 2022 Punjab Legislative Assembly election.[3]
