Russian occupation of Donetsk Oblast
The Russian occupation of Donetsk Oblast is an ongoing military occupation, which began on 24 February, when Russian forces invaded Ukraine and began capturing parts of the Donetsk Oblast. Part of the Oblast has been control by the Donetsk People's Republic, a breakaway state located, formed on 7 April 2014. Its administrative centre is Donetsk; however, its Regional State Administration has been temporarily relocated to Kramatorsk because of the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian war.[1]
