Rumelihisarı, Sarıyer
Rumelihisarı or Rumeli Hisari is one of the 25 neighborhoods of Sarıyer district on the European side of Istanbul. Looking at its administrative borders: Baltalimanı lies to the north; Fatih Sultan Mehmet neighborhood is to the northwest; Etiler, a district of Beşiktaş, is to the west; Bebek neighborhoods, some of which are connected to Beşiktaş district, are to the south; and to the east is the Bosphorus Strait. The neighborhood borrows its name from the Ottoman era fortress, Rumelihisarı, which was used in the siege and eventual Capture of Constantinople.
