Rhubarb Radio (Wakefield)

Rhubarb Radio is a local commercial radio station based in Ossett for the Wakefield and South Leeds area of England. It is operated by volunteers[1] and is the first of a planned five radio stations using the Rhubarb brand. It has its origins in a pilot scheme known as Valley Radio and covers a part of the area known as the Rhubarb Triangle. A spokesman for the station said that "If orange and apple can be global brands, why not rhubarb too!"[2]

Rhubarb Radio Wakefield

Rhubarb Radio launched as a commercial local radio service in Wakefield on 1 October 2017 at midday.[3] It plays a variety of hits from the 1970s to today. The radio station can be heard on tuneIn Radio, on smartphones and tablets by downloading the free app, on Smartspeakers. Also soon to be launched on the SSDAB across the Wakefield district and Leeds.

Rhubarb Smoothies Radio

Rhubarb Smoothies is the first of the planned spin-off stations from Rhubarb Radio and was launched in 2021 as a lifestyle station with an easy listening music policy.[4]
