Renfrew South and Gallowhill (ward)
Renfrew South and Gallowhill is an electoral ward in Renfrewshire, Scotland. It is one of the twelve wards in Renfrewshire and elects three of its 43 Councillors using the Single Transferable Vote electoral system.[2]
A ward of the same name has existed since 2007, although its boundaries were reviewed and amended slightly,[3] with the new configuration (which removed streets north of Porterfield Road)[4] first used for the 2017 Renfrewshire Council election. As reflected in its name, the ward contains contains the southern half of the town of Renfrew and north-eastern parts of the larger town of Paisley (between the White Cart Water and the Inverclyde Line railway tracks, primarily the Gallowhill housing scheme).[5] In 2020, the ward population was 12,232.[6]
