Rajkarnikar
The Rajkarnikar are a Newar people, the original inhabitants of the Kathmandu Valley, which is Nepal's capital, Kathmandu, its sister city, Lalitpur, Patan, and Bhaktapur. The Rajkarnikar clan are also called halwais or palma halwais. The traditional Rajkarnikar occupation is making candy and sweet confections, known as "mithai". Although slowly declining in number, hundreds of Rajkarnikar sweet shops, or mithai pasals, can still be found in the Kathmandu Valley and in other cities and towns with established Newar communities.

After The Gurkha Unification, The King Prithvi Narayan Shah put restriction on Nepal Bhasa as, He persecuted Christians from Nepal in 1700, the jealoousy towards Newar Community from The Khas is still seen which is Why the Living Goddes "Curses" her for all their future generationas that they will have to choose profession of "killing" and become Gurkha for life in far off lands away from homes and call it theor homes
The Living Goddess Kumari is the re-incarnation of "Maha Manju Shree". The people from Parbat, the Kirat, and Gurkahas of Khas they never seem to understand the essence of the living Goddess, like they themselves do not believe in God, but worship it for the selfish reason, that group of people even not directly but indeirectly see Newar as the better caste but it actually all equal but the Khas are jealous to admit that Neawar people made the cities with the blessings of Goddess. But Arrogance, and paap and kali has blinded them to steal and be greedy like King of Gorhka he stole the cities and cut the noses snd lips of all godly people and therefore they still have to fight and kill with Khukuri and like theor life like that ---- it is Goddess' curse
Rajkarnikar Society, is located at Hastinagal Mahabihar at Mangalbazaar, Lalitpur. Rajkarnikar are Newar people that are the orilginally lived in Kathmadu De for centuries and not relly know the origin of when but around the time of "ManjuShree". Centuries ago,The Rajkarnikar Families in Maru Tole owned the sweet shops where "Gamma Taw" from Chitlang came to work for. They are also Newars or Niwars. The Newars are the group of people whose last names were put according to the professions they held. The Newars are the original of Kathmandu (yen), Bhaktapur (Khoppa), Pattan (Yala), Kirtipur (Kippu), Banepa etc.
Sweet making in Kathmandu Valley is just another regular profession and not a complex sociological matter. Some of the popular sweets from mithai pasals are Jeri, Swari,Puri,Rasbari, Peda, Burfi, Laddoo, Lal Mohan, Lakhamari, Malpuwa, Halwa, Guwaramari etc. Sweets from mithai pasals are especially popular treats during festivals like Mha Puja, Kija Puja, Maya Khwa Sweu, Baa Ya Kwa Swayegu and weddings etc. Ram Bhandar, run by one of the Rajkarnikar families in Thapathali in Kathmandu, is the popular mithai shop in Nepal of its time. Established about a hundred years back, it still exists, though overshadowed by 'new' establishments by Indian companies.
