Playboy of the West Indies (musical)
Playboy of the West Indies is an upcoming musical written by Mustapha Matura with music by Clement Ishmael & Dominique Le Gendre and lyrics by Clement Ishmael, Dominique Le Gendre and Nicolas Kent. It is based on Matura's play of the same name which is a Caribbean version of Synge's The Playboy of the Western World.

Production
The musical will premiere at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre with previews beginning 10 June, with a press night on 15 June, running until 2 July 2022. It will be co-directed by Ishmael, Le Gendre and Kent and will be presented by Birmingham 2022 Festival.[1][2]
