Phenomy started out releasing music that was influenced by the tones that first introduced them to heavy music which was old school thrash metal and groove metal in the likes of Metallica and Pantera.
The band had lots of participation and contributions when it comes to their local metal scene, started as small as a support act and after gaining stage experience and forming a big fanbase in their local metal scene, the band eventually started headlining local shows which developed into contributing to the rebirth of the metal scene in Lebanon.
History
Phenomy played their first show in December 2014, at Christmas Mission,[1] a charity event that hosted more than 20 bands for a cause. Phenomy consisted of founders Loïc and Rudy, Adel Hassan (vocals), Dany Arfan (guitar) and Raymond Ghorayeb (bass). The quintet started to get booked already in consecutive local shows just before starting their international career just 3 months after their formation in the Persian Rock And Metal Festival[2] in Çanakkale, Turkey.
This lineup changed early on when the band entered the studio to record their first album Once And For All, Sam Felfly joined the band to become the new vocalist and Kevin Ghanem took over the Bass Guitar.
After releasing Once And For All,[3] Phenomy went on to their first European tour and toured Eastern European countries including Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Croatia and Bulgaria. The tour would turn out to be the experience that put out Phenomy on the world map and become one of the few Middle Eastern bands to tour in Europe.
The band decided to do something a bit different on their second album and started to work on a set of songs with Tribal and Ethnic influences all mixed with the Thrash/Groove metal vibes that they started with. The album Threaten World Order[4] a.k.a T.W.O was released in February 2018. The album includes fan favorites Sacrifice and Dance of the Wounded Souls, that directly became the most anticipated tracks to be played live by the band.
Phenomy entered the Middle Eastern Wacken Battle of the Bands,[5] a competition that allowed them to play in one of the biggest metal festivals in the world Wacken Open Air.[6] The band also performed in the Metalhead Meeting Festival[7] a month before W.O.A, sharing the stage with Children of Bodom, Soulfly, Epica, Sonata Arctica, Kataklysm, Carach Angren and many more.
