Peirópolis

Peirópolis is a rural district located in Uberaba, Brazil. It is known as a geological-paleontological heritage site, where have been established The Paleontological Research Centre Llevellyn Ivor Price, and The Dinosaur Museum, as many dinosaur fossils have been discovered in the area.[1] In the past, it was an important location due to the mining activities.[2]

The Paleontological Research Centre Llewellyn Ivor Price became a reference in the Brazilian paleonthology promoting the development of scientific articles in partnership with other Brazilian and foreign institutions. It possesses a collection of 1.500 fossils, most of them belonging to Upper Cretaceous.[3]

Extinct animals found includes the Peirosaurus and the Uberabatitan.[4]

Museum

The exhibition in the Dinosaur Museum comprises the geology, and paleontology of Uberaba region.[5]
