Palmolive is an American multinational brand of a line of products produced by parent company, Colgate-Palmolive. The name originated in 1898.

History
The B.J. Johnson Soap Company was established in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1864. In 1898, the company introduced Palmolive soap[1] a formula created by the company that included palm and olive oil.[2]
In 1928, Colgate merged with the Palmolive-Peet Company.[3] In 1953, the companies became a joint venture, known as the Colgate-Palmolive Company.[4]
