Pacific Coast Athletic League
Pacific Coast Athletic League (PCAL) is a high school athletic league formed in 2017 from the merging of the Mission Trail Athletic League and the Monterey Bay League, belonging to the CIF Central Coast Section of the California Interscholastic Federation.[1] PCAL consists of about 33 public and private high schools schools from Monterey, San Benito, Santa Clara, and Santa Cruz counties, which are generally further split up into the Gabilan, Cypress, Mission, Santa Lucia, and Arroyo divisions.[2] Division placement in each sport and gender is based on competitive strength, with input from coaches.[1]
