Omar Hayat Malik
Omar Hayat Malik was a Pakistani educationist and diplomat who served as the vice-chancellor of the University of the Punjab between 1947 and 1950. He was the first vice-chancellor of the university, after the independence of Pakistan.[1][2][3] Prior to that, he served as the principal of the Islamia College, Peshawar and Islamia College, Lahore. He also participated in the Pakistan Movement.[4]
Later, he was appointed as Pakistan's ambassador to Japan, Germany, Indonesia and as High Commissioner to India.[4]
