Nooa Laine

Nooa Laine (born 22 November 2002) is a Malaysian-Finnish professional footballer plays as midfielder for Finnish Veikkausliiga club SJK and Malaysia national under-23 football team.[1][2]

Early life

Laine was born in Jyväskylä, Finland, to a Finnish mother and Malaysian father.[3] As a result, he holds dual citizenship of Finland and Malaysia.[4] His father is from Batu Laut, Selangor, Malaysia.[5] Laine started training when he was six with a summer team in the municipality of Jyväskylä.[5]

Club career

Nooa Laine began his career at JJK Jyväskylä in 2018, making 15 league appearances and scored 1 goal. In April 2019, he joined Klubi 04, the reserve team of HJK, making 23 league appearances and scoring 4 goals.[6] Laine joined the current club first division side SJK in January 2021, cited the good facility is what attracting him to the club.[7] He was chosen as the man of the match for the first time against IFK Mariehamn.[8]
