Miyu Amasaki

Miyu Matsuda (松田 光由, Matsuda Miyu, born April 25, 2002) better known by her ring name Miyu Amasaki (天咲 光由, Amasaki Miyu) is a Japanese professional wrestler currently working for the Japanese promotion World Wonder Ring Stardom.[3]

Professional wrestling career

World Wonder Ring Stardom (2022-present)

Matsuda made her professional wrestling debut in World Wonder Ring Stardom's New Blood 1 pay-per-view from March 11, 2022, an event dedicated to rookies, where she fell short to Utami Hayashishita. Despite Matsuda's loss, Hayashishita was impressed by the latter's performance, therefore inviting the debutant to join the Queen's Quest unit which Matsuda immediately accepted.[4] On the first night of the Stardom World Climax 2022 from March 26, she teamed up with her new unit stablemates Lady C and AZM to compete in a six-woman tag team gauntlet match won by Donna Del Mondo (Himeka, Natsupoi, and Mai Sakurai) and also involving Cosmic Angels (Waka Tsukiyama and Mina Shirakawa) and Momo Kohgo, and Oedo Tai (Saki Kashima, Fukigen Death and Ruaka).[5] On the second night of the event from March 27, she competed in an 18-woman Cinderella Rumble match, being lastly eliminated by Mei Suruga. The match also portraited the presence of various superstars from other promotions such as Tomoka Inaba, Aoi, Haruka Umesaki, Nanami, Maria and many others.[6] In the Stardom Cinderella Tournament 2022, Matsuda fell short to Hazuki in the first-round matches from April 3.[7]

Personal life

Matsuda cites playing violin and guitar as her greatest hobbies due to influence from her family. She also cited baseball as being her background sport in middle school. Before starting training to become a professional wrestler, Matsuda worked as a waitress in a restaurant. She revealed Dragon Gate as being her first ever wrestling encounter, promotion which she used to watch since elementary school.[8]
