History

Midnapore Law College was founded in 2002, with a campus located in Midnapore. Initially modeling its structure on the University of Calcutta's syllabus, Midnapore Law College offered a five-year LL.B course. Following this, the newly-set syllabi of the University Grants Commission (U.G.C) of India replaced the course curriculum. This change included a shift from an annual division of the school year to a semester-based system.

The Midnapore Law College was affiliated with Vidyasagar University as early as 2009.[1]

Courses and structure

The college offers a B.A. LL.B (Hons.) upon successful completion of the five-year course, as well as a three-year postgraduate LL.B course. The college has a library dedicated to various areas of law. The college has regularly coordinated and collaborated with the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS) in the past, holding seminars in Kolkata.
