Mere Humsafar (TV series)

Mere Humsafar (transl.My Soulmate) is a Pakistani drama television series produced by Humayun Saeed and Shehzad Naseeb under banner Six Sigma Plus, directed by Qasim Ali Mureed and first aired on 30 December 2021 on ARY Digital as a part of night programming. It features Hania Amir and Farhan Saeed in lead roles along with Saba Hameed, Waseem Abbas, Samina Ahmed, Zoya Nasir and Tara Mahmood in supporting roles.

Plot

Hala is left by her father, Nafees in Pakistan because his new wife does not want to raise his daughter from his previous marriage. Adored by Nafees and then abandoned, Hala is mistreated by her father's brother, Raees and Jalees and their wives, ShahJahan and Sophia. She grows up to be a subdued teenager who is always harassed. Her uncle feeds her father false stories about her and never lets her talk to her father. She was in love with her best friend's cousin Khurram but because of Shah Jahan (Hala's Aunt), their relationship breaks. Raees (Hala's uncle) plans to get Hala married to his employee Naveed, who is a stupid man. Later, their marriage breaks because of Hamza, Hala's cousin. After that Hala was ousted from the house by Shah Jahan (Hala's aunt) for a mistake done by Roomi. But later Hamza found Hala but Raees does not allow Hala to stay in their house and breaks the relationship with her. In order to give Hala a relationship, Hamza marries Hala.

Production

The project was first announced in August 2021 with the working title of Jhooti.[1][2] Director Qasim Ali Mureed told to Dawn Images that it's a family story with a love story in the middle of it. The story touches upon contemporary issues and it's all quite relatable.[2][3] The first look of the series was unveiled on 21 December 2021.[4] The first episode aired on 30 December 2021 on ARY Digital.[5]
