It was a long cherished dream of Late Shri Biren Roy, who was a Member of the Indian Parliament and a philanthropist, resident and well-known person in Behala, to start an English medium school at 26A Rishi Bankim Road, Behala, to be run by any organization. With this in mind, he donated a semi-constructed four-storeyed building to the Archdiocese of Calcutta. As the constructed structure was incomplete, it needed a lot of work to make it suitable for a school. Plans for this work were prepared, taking into account space for class-rooms, hall, academic infrastructure like library, staff room, etc., toilets separately for boys and girls as the school was to be a coeducational one. For this Project the Archdiocese came forward with its financial resources. The entire project was meticulously executed in every detail by Monsignor Francis Gomes, the then Vicar General, Archdiocese of Calcutta,
In the month of May, 1991, at the invitation of Archbishop Henry D'Souza, Archbishop of Calcutta, the Congregation of the Sisters of Little Flower of Bethany (Bethany Sisters), accepted and decided to run it as an English medium school. Sister Sylvine, B.S.. the then Superior General of the Congregation and Sister Lillis, B.S... Provincial Superior of North East Province were chiefly instrumental in arriving at this decision.
Encouragement and full co-operation also came from Father John Noronha, the then Parish Priest of Infant Jesus Church, 3 Sourin Roy Road, Behala, who was always available with his help and guidance in all matters relating to the school.
Sister Lillis meticulously planned out the various arrangements required for starting the school, such as admissions, curricula, etc.) and Sisters from Bethany Convent, Chittaranjan (now in the Diocese of Asansol) and from Bethany Convent, Catholic Catholic Cathedral Chuch,
