Marselino Ferdinan

Marselino Ferdinan Philipus (born 9 September 2004) is an Indonesian professional footballer who plays as a attacking midfielder and right winger for Liga 1 club Persebaya Surabaya and the Indonesia national team. In 2021, Marselino was named of as one of the 60 most talented and promising players by The Guardian.[2]

Club career

Persebaya Surabaya

He was signed for Persebaya Surabaya to played in Liga 1 on 2021 season. Ferdinan made his first-team debut on 11 September 2021 in a match against Persikabo 1973.[3] On 6 November, Ferdinan scored his first league goal for the team, scoring in a 2–2 draw over rival Arema in the 2021–22 Liga 1.[4]

International career

Ferdinan debuted in a Indonesia youth when he was starting against Vietnam in the 2019 AFF U-15 Championship.[5] scoring his first U15 international goal in a 2–0 win against Vietnam.[6]

In October 2021, Ferdinan was called up to the Indonesia U23 in a friendly match against Tajikistan and Nepal and also prepared for 2022 AFC U-23 Asian Cup qualification in Tajikistan by Shin Tae-yong.[7] On 26 October 2021, Ferdinan debuted in a youth national team when he coming as a substitute in a 2–3 lose against Australia U23 in the 2022 AFC U-23 Asian Cup qualification.[8]

In January 2022, Ferdinan was called up to the senior team in a friendly match in Bali by Shin Tae-yong.[9] He earned his first cap in a 4–1 win friendly match against Timor Leste on 27 January 2022.[10] He became the second youngest player to win his first cap at the age of 17 years 4 months and 18 days. Just behind Ronaldo Kwateh, who was also made his debut at the same match.[10]
