Marquinhos Trad

Marquinhos Trad (born Marcos Marcello Trad; 28 August 1964[1]) is a Brazilian politician and lawyer. He was mayor of Campo Grande between 2017 and 2022.

Career

He is a lawyer, having graduated from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). He started in politics as a councilor in 2004. He was municipal secretary of Land Affairs before being elected for the first term of state deputy in 2006, being reelected in 2010 and 2014. In 2016, he was elected for the first term as mayor of Campo Grande,[2] with 241,876 valid votes.

As a lawyer, he was a member of the Mato Grosso do Sul section of the Brazilian Bar Association as a counselor, then chairing the Ethics and Discipline Committee. He integrated and presided over the State Court of Sports Justice (TJD-MS).

In January 2022, the candidacy for the Government of Mato Grosso do Sul in the 2022 State Elections was announced.[3]

Personal life

He is the son of Nelson Trad and Therezinha Mandetta Trad. Marcos is married to Tatiana Trad. He is the father of four daughters: Andressa, Aline, Mariana and Alice, and grandfather of Lara and Isabele.
